Works straight from the source or from any container you can carry, no pumping and no waiting. Two protective caps seal both ends so the straw goes into a pack, a glovebox, or a pocket and stays sealed until the day you open it.

MAIN FEATURES

SUITABLE: Drink directly from streams, lakes, ponds, rain barrels, or a bottle filled from a questionable tap. The 0.2-micron hollow fiber membrane is a physical barrier, not a chemical treatment, so there is no iodine aftertaste, no 30-minute wait, and nothing to mix. Filters bacteria, protozoan parasites, microplastics, silt and cloudiness down to 0.2 microns. Not designed for viruses, dissolved chemicals, heavy metals, or saltwater.

NO POWER, NO PARTS: No batteries, no cartridges to change, no moving parts to break. Nothing in this straw can run out of charge or wear out on a shelf.

UNLIMITED SHELF LIFE: Sealed and unused, Stillwater does not expire. It can sit in a go-bag for a decade and be exactly as ready on the day you open it as the day you bought it. Once in use, each straw is rated for up to 1,000 gallons (4,000 liters), roughly five years of one person's drinking water.

SELF-INDICATING: There is no date to track and no test to run. When the membrane reaches the end of its life, flow slows and then stops. It cannot quietly fail open and pass dirty water through. When it stops, you replace it.

COLD SEASON: Sealed and never wetted, Stillwater is unaffected by freezing temperatures, which is why it belongs in a vehicle year-round. Once a straw has been used, water stays inside the fibers permanently. If that water freezes, it expands and can damage the membrane, and there is no way to check for it afterward. Store used straws indoors. Keep the sealed spare in the truck.

ONE PER PERSON: A straw is a mouthpiece. It is not shared equipment. A household of four needs four, and most people keep additional sealed units in the vehicle, the camper, and the hunting pack. Available in One Person, Two Person, Household (4), and Household + Vehicles (6).

USING METHODS

DIRECT SIP: Open both caps. Put the intake end in the water, put your lips on the mouthpiece, and draw. The first two or three pulls prime the membrane and feel stiff. After that, flow settles in and you drink at the source for as long as you want.

BOTTLE SIP: Fill any bottle, canteen, or cup from the source, drop the intake end in, and drink from there. This is the method for shallow creeks, for filling at one location and drinking at another, and for anyone who does not want to lie down on a riverbank.

AFTER USE: Blow air back through the mouthpiece until water clears out of the straw. This pushes trapped sediment off the membrane and is the single habit that keeps flow rate strong. Cap both ends and store dry.
